Bright Launches DataOptimizer at IBC 2011

New Defragmentation Tool Improves Efficiency of Multi-Platform Post-Production Workflows

Amsterdam, September 9, 2011: Bright Technologies, Inc., developer of advanced technology for shared media, is launching DataOptimizer, a new defragmentation tool designed specifically for the media and entertainment industry, at IBC 2011 [booth #7.A10]. Based on the data optimizer subset previously available only as an option with Bright’s BrightDrive media file server, the new stand-alone DataOptimizer includes a range of features to improve the efficiency of any shared media post-production environment operating on StorNextFS or HyperFS.

DataOptimizer overcomes the challenges that arise as a result of normal post-production processes when file systems become fragmented or randomized. Using unique sequence-aware, multi-threaded intelligence, DataOptimizer quickly restores optimal data or file arrangements by optimizing its layout on the disks, creating large contiguous portions of files.  DataOptimizer has been developed using Bright’s unique media file handling knowledge-base, and is fully optimized for fibre-channel workflows, making one of the industry’s most advanced and sophisticated defragmentation options available today.
